This activity focuses on selecting learning activities that
will lead to learning objectives. The organization of learning activities into
an effective learning sequence is the responsibility of the curriculum developer
or teacher. There are certain issues of instructional planning that are likely
to present a challenge to the curriculum developer. These include:
-
curriculum differentiation
or individualization to account for diverse interests or learning styles,
-
grouping
of learners to facilitate different kinds of learning activities,
-
choosing activities from among those likely to lead to learning objectives,
-
selecting resources to be provided for each
activity, and
-
sequencing of activities
so that they build toward learning objectives.
In this section, we will examine: individualization,
grouping, selecting activities, suggested
activities , and sequencing activities and then you will
complete an activity designed to help you choose learning activities for your
