Activities:
A number of criteria can provide a starting point for
guiding the selection of learning activities:

authentic activities

beyond one subject area

multiple approaches (diverse range of activities)

it simple (Simple designs and web pages are easier for both teachers and
students to use)

to promote intentionality – a clear purpose

Use
characteristics of the Web, including hypertext, multimedia, communication
tools, and interactivity

activities around current events

non-Web materials, events, and locations (learners should use some time
working cooperatively offline or with print materials, with real objects or
in significant locations)

Facilitate
spontaneity – proper balance between teacher control and student freedom

Plan
for open-ended inquiry by letter students make choices within a set of
educationally sound boundaries
