Introduction

This activity focuses on the overall design of a web site. Important issues discussed include designing for your audience, using a visual metaphor or other clues to create a consistent look, creating navigation tools to enable users to find their way around in the site, breaking materials up into individual pages or "chunks" within a page, and designing overall site structure.

The process of designing a web site can be broken down into ten steps. As you read about these steps, you will be asked to consider aspects of your curriculum web and to complete a task. You should proceed to the Ten Steps page now.
